GIFT’s theater workshop series is designed to give teens training in the craft and the industry in a supportive, creative environment.
Sessions are led by fellow teens and seasoned theater professionals, giving participants a unique blend of peer learning and real-world insight. All workshops are free and hosted over Zoom.

Self-Tape Auditions

Understand the fundamentals of self-taping to increase your chances of a callback. Reina Subramanian is a rising senior and has been signed to 2 agencies in San Francisco and Los Angeles for 2.5 years. Her self-tape auditions have led to commercial roles and even a modeling job with Pottery Barn Teen. She is currently the vice president of GIFT Theater and plans to pursue acting in college. A fun fact about her is that her favorite princess growing up was Rapunzel and her favorite color is still purple because of that.
Light and Sound Technology Basics

Gain an overview of the sound and light technology used in a modern theater environment. Nathan Coleman is a light and sound designer who will be majoring in lighting design and technology this fall at Rutgers University! He has designed over 50 plays and musicals, with some of his recent work including Oliver the Musical, A Midsummers Nights Dream, Sonia Flew, and A Christmas Nightmare. He has also worked as a programmer and electrician for companies such as PYT and TheaterWorks, and is currently a board operator for 5 & Dime. A fun fact about him is that he aspires to be a cat dad in his future, already having two named Dusty and Ted.
